Herberginterieur met een oude man, die zich vergrijpt aan de waardin. Daarachter enkele triktrakspelers en een drinkende man. De voorstelling staat bekend als 'Tweeërlei spel'. Links een grote haard waarboven takken zijn gehangen, aan de muur een luit. Op de vloer ligt een hond naast een omgevallen kruk tussen eierschalen en mosselen.
