Explanatory note
Het is onduidelijk of Giulio Campagnola bekend was met de tekening van Andrea Mantegna (verloren gegaan) of dat hij zich baseerde op de gravure van Girolamo Mocetto naar de tekening van Mantegna die enkele jaren eerder vervaardigd werd. In de collectie van het Louvre bevindt zich een tekening die Campagnola heeft gebruikt om het landschap over te brengen op de plaat (zie documentatie).
