Landscape with a Plateau, a River in the Distance
Hercules Segers, c. 1622 - c. 1625
It was recently determined that this etching is printed on paper from the Far East. Insofar as is known Segers, thus, was the first artist in Europe to use this kind of paper, more than twenty years before Rembrandt would print his etchings on Japanese paper.
