Three Oriental Figures

Rembrandt van Rijn (mentioned on object), 1641

The substantial distance to the front door and the hand gesture of the man at the right suggest that we are witnessing some sort of dispute. With his impressive turban and long beard, the man near the door strongly recalls Abraham as he appears in other etchings by Rembrandt. However, it is unclear which story Rembrandt has depicted here.
