Christ Driving the Money-changers from the Temple

Rembrandt van Rijn (mentioned on object), 1635

With a theatrical sense of drama, Rembrandt captures Christ cleansing the Temple with a whip he made of cords. An ox running amuck drags its owner along, and a woman selling a basket of doves takes to her heels. The money-changers must bear the brunt: Christ overturns their table. This is indeed how it is described in the Bible.
