Salome ontvangt het hoofd van Johannes de Doper

De beul die Johannes de Doper heeft onthoofd brengt het nog bloedende hoofd op een dienblad naar Salome de stiefdochter van Herodes. In zijn hand houdt hij nog het zwaard waarmee hij Johannes heeft gedood. Omstanders kijken ontzet naar het hoofd.
