Model of a Jolly Boat

Spantmodel op een standaard. Overnaadse enkelriems sloep, gepiekt rondspant met bijna vlakke zeeg en platte spiegel; een voorplecht, vier roeidoften en spoorstokken en een open kajuit met zijdoften, zettebord en extra doft. De voorsteven is gekoperd. Eenvoudig roer; de messing helmstok is naar boven gebogen. Aan losse onderdelen zijn er nog een boothaak en vier roeiriemen.

Wooden frame model of a jolly boat, mounted on a stand.

Clinker-built, single-banked boat with a shallow S-bottom, an almost flat sheer and a square stern (pointed with a transom). The model has a small foredeck, four thwarts with stretchers and an open cockpit with side benches and a back bench. The stem is coppered. At the stern a basic rudder is indicated, with a brass hand tiller that is bent upwards.

The model represents a jolly boat built according to the regulations of the Dutch Navy of 1819.1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 524.
