Gietijzeren preekstoel uit de Nederlands Hervormde Kerk te Voorschoten

Enthoven & Co., 1867

Cast-iron chair pulpit. L.J. Enthoven & Co, Iron Foundry, The Hague, 1867. This neo-Gothic pulpit was exhibited at the World's Fair of 1867 in Paris. It was awarded a prize in the 'cast iron' category. Cast iron was a particularly important material in industry and the building trade. This pulpit showed that the material had other possibilities, too. The pulpit was sold even before the exhibition had finished: to the Reformed church in Voorschoten. It served there for almost a hundred years.
