Two wager cups in the shape of a cannon

A wager cup (also termed a ‘drink-up’) is so-called because the user could not set it down when it was full and thus had to drain it. Wager cups came in all shapes and forms, among them these fragile cannons.

  • Description

    Kanon met taps toelopende loop, de mond afgezet met een gladde draad. Op het lichaam één gladde en vier geribde draden. Op de bovenzijde een zundgat in de vorm van een mascaron en twee glazen beugels. Ter weerskanten tappen, waarmee een kanon in de affuit rust, eindigend in een gladde nop met turkoois hartje. De achterzijde eindigt in een dubbele, geribde nodus, de druif . Resten van verguldsel op het zundgat en de druif.
