From a distance, this beaker looks like a book bound in leather, but it is a deceptive imitation, complete with book clasps and a handsomely embellished front and back cover, in glazed earthenware. The drink opening is on the top, just behind the book’s spine.

    Drinkbeker van steengoed in de vorm van een boek met twee klampen en vijf geribde riemen op de rug. Aan de bovenzijde, aan de kant van de rug, een gat om uit te drinken. Op de kaft decoratieve banden met gestempelde ornamenten, die samen een kruis in een rechthoek vormen. Raeren.
