Latin America’s Best Female Chef Kamilla Seidler will cook with Joris Bijdendijk at RIJKS® for a 3-day guest chef event this October. Seidler is head chef of restaurant Gustu which has been nemed Bolivia’s Best Restaurant twice.
Kamilla, who was born in Copenhagen, successfully finished the Hotel & Restaurant school in her city and gained a wealth of experience in restaurants like Mugaritz, Manoir Aux ‘Quat Saisons, Paustian and Geist where she always stood out for her professionalism and perfectionism. In 2012 a phone call from NOMA co-founder Claus Meyer changed the life path of the Danish Seidler. She became head chef of restaurant Gustu in Bolivia. Gustu is listed number 14 between 50 best restaurants in Latin America.
Gustu aims to emphasize the link between producers and plate applying the ‘0 kilometre’ philosophy: working exclusively with ingredients planted, grown and processed entirely in Bolivia. This is opening up a world of opportunities through improving living conditions for farmers in this landlocked South American nation as well as for the culinary innovation.
Since the opening of the museum restaurant in November 2014, RIJKS® has welcomed guest chefs including Margot Janse (The Tasting Room / Le Quartier Français in Franschhoek, South Africa), Jacques Pourcel (Jardin des Sens, Montpellier), André Chiang (André in Singapore and RAW in Taiwan), Tim Raue (Tim Raue, Berlin), Yotam Ottolenghi (Nopi, London), Nick Bril (The Jane, Antwerp), Virgilio Martínez (Central, Lima), Fergus Henderson (st. John, London), Eelke Plasmeijer (Locavore, Bali) and Dan Hunter (Brae, Australia).
