Cupboard Herman Doomer (c. 1595-1650), oak, ebony, mother-of-pearl, c. 1640

This costly cupboard was made by Herman Doomer, the specialist in ebony work and Rembrandt’s friend. This was no ordinary cupboard, but an art cabinet made to house a collector’s ‘treasures.’
