From the series SlaveryWho put an end to slavery? People such as Surapati, Sapali and Tula? Or white Europeans like Dirk van Hogendorp, who, like his father, was an abolitionist. His life story shows that upholding moral values failed, when personal interests were at stake. This story is narrated by Gijs Stork, whose ancestors include both plantation owners and abolitionists.
