The origins of sodomy

From the series Queer stories
Abraham Sees Sodom in Flames, Dirck Vellert (workshop of), c. 1520 - c. 1525

The subject of this small stained glass window is the biblical city of Sodom. Abraham, the large figure in the foreground, is shown watching the flames with which God is destroying Sodom. Nowadays the term ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’ (another biblical city) refers to a place where wicked and depraved behaviour is practised.
