The Rijksmuseum was a guest at the Bijenkorf department store in Amsterdam and Eindhoven.
Rijksstudio at the Bijenkorf
Rijksstudio contains 125,000 beautiful, well-known, and surprising images from the Rijksmuseum’s collection. You can zoom in really close, share them, and ‘like’ them. You can also create collections of your own, using your favourite images and details. Not only that, but the Rijksmuseum is also inviting you to use these images to create beautiful products. This is why the Rijksmuseum was a guest at the Bijenkorf.
Making your own creation at the Bijenkorf department store
Alexander van Slobbe is one of the many designers who have drawn inspiration from the collection. This led to a few special creations, such as an evening gown and a silk scarf. Just a single gown was made to this design, and a hundred of these scarves are on sale exclusively at the Bijenkorf stores. Visitors could use the temporary studios set up in the Bijenkorf department stores at Amsterdam and Eindhoven to make their own creation, on the spot!
