The Golden Age was the heyday of Dutch painting. Rembrandt created a quite a stir with his characteristic painting style and everyone was blown away by his group portrait of Amsterdam marksmen.

The works and names of Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals and many others still capture attention and admiration all over the world. The Rijksmuseum is the place to come and see them.

This guided tour shows you the most beautiful works of art from that period. From Rembrandts characteristic and rough painting style, to Vermeers tranquil paintings such as the Milkmaid. And from Frans Hals’ lively portraits of civilians, to the famous Dutch still lifes with cheeses. And why is the Night Watch so special? This tour will show you. In one hour, you will see the highlights of Dutch painting in the 17th century
