Description

Een oude vrouw met een groot mes in haar hand, tegen een zwarte achtergrond met kalebas ranken. In het vierkanten cartouche een gedicht. Deze prent is een scene uit het kabuki toneelstuk 'Het afgelegen huis' (Hitotsuya), met acteur Onoe Kikugorô V in de rol van de oude moordlustige heks van de Adachi vlakte, opgevoerd in de vierde maand van 1890 in het Ichimura theater. Explanatory note

Het gedicht in het vierkanten cartouche leest (vertaald in het Engels): "Through the yûgao vines a high wind moans at the eaves". In het cartouche met de kunstenaarsnaam, staat ook de vermelding (vertaald in het het Engels): "Special request at the order of Akiyama Buemon". De prent is dus op verzoek van de uitgever gemaakt.
