Lidded wine glass, anoniem, Hans Wolfgang Schmidt, c. 1675 - c. 1699

helder, kleurloos en donkergroen glas met radgravure, zilver, h 48cm × d 13.7cm. More details

This goblet’s form, with alternating knobs and discs, betrays its Nuremberg origins. Nuremberg was a centre for glass art. Not only the glass but also the engraving was done in that city. The green colour of the glass complements the engraved scene of a forest. Between the trees, beaters are driving game towards hunters.
