Pointed hat, Anonymous, c. 1930 - c. 1935
This hat is made with astrakhan, the curly fur of a newborn (or unborn) karakul lamb. The combination of decoration and shape recalls folklorist hats. In the early 1930s, milliners often drew inspiration from specific local hat styles, such as the Tyrolean, sombrero or Cossack hat. This hat may have been combined with a coat trimmed with the same kind of fur.
