Following the 'Dutch Winters' exhibition, the Rijksmuseum annex at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol now presents another characteristic aspect of the Netherlands, namely flowers, in the 'Dutch Flowers' exhibition from 21 March to 25 June 2012. Nine exuberant ‘flower pieces’ from the museum’s collection that used to adorn the homes of the 17th-century economic elite are now in full bloom at the airport. Read more
Rijksmuseum Schiphol is a joint and unique initiative between Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The Rijksmuseum is the first museum in the world to have an annexe in an airport and Schiphol is the first airport to have a museum in its terminal. The museum was officially opened on 9 December 2002 by His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange.
The Rijksmuseum Schiphol is located on Holland Boulevard, in the area behind passport control between the E and F Pier. The museum is open every day from 6 am until 8 pm and admission is free.
