Hendrick de Keyser I (1565-1621)

Hendrick de Keyser was born in Utrecht in 1565. He was probably a pupil of the architect and sculptor Cornelis Bloemaert. De Keyser made his name as the architect of numerous buildings in Amsterdam. His Zuiderkerk, Westerkerk and Mint Tower still dominate the characteristic silhouette of Amsterdam.
